How The Event Works

The Mummy's Curse awakens every day at server save and remains active until the next server save. Its tomb lies in Daramatha, where a configurable set of ornate canopic jars appears for the current cycle.

Each intact jar can be shattered successfully only once per cycle. Every permitted attempt has a 1% chance to break it. A failed attempt leaves the jar intact and prevents only that character from trying that particular jar again for four hours. The same character may immediately try another jar, and other characters may still try the resisted jar.

Breaking A Canopic Jar

Ornate Canopic Jar

A successful attempt turns the jar into broken remains and grants the character one persistent Horestis passage credit. Credits survive server saves and restarts until used.

The first successful break of the day opens the tomb passage for everyone until the next server save. At server save the jars are recreated intact and the passage closes, but saved passage credits and unexpired per-jar cooldowns remain.

Entering Horestis' Chamber

The passage can be used only while the daily event is active and at least one jar has been shattered during the current cycle. Entering also requires one passage credit.

The chamber is a shared solo encounter:

  • only one challenger may be inside at a time;
  • one passage credit is consumed after Horestis is created and the challenger enters successfully;
  • the fight lasts up to 10 minutes;
  • after Horestis dies, the challenger has 60 seconds to collect loot and leave;
  • death, logout, leaving early, or running out of time does not refund the credit.

If the chamber is occupied, the next challenger must wait until it is cleared.

Horestis

Horestis

Horestis is an undead priest protected by death and life-drain magic. Earth attacks are less effective against him, while holy and physical pressure remain practical choices. Be ready for paralysis, poison, draining attacks, and summoned sandstone scorpions.

Horestis keeps his normal server loot. His signature reward is the Scorpion Sceptre.

Event NPCs

The World Event Guide reports active world events and the current state of The Mummy's Curse. Ask about world events, Horestis, or status.

The Ancient Priest explains the curse from inside its Daramathan lore. Ask about status, Horestis, curse, or canopic jars.

Both NPCs can report how many jars are intact or broken, whether the passage is open, whether the solo chamber is occupied, how many passage credits you hold, and which individual jars are still resisting your character.
